A Life Well Lived: Mr. Eric Frederick Cox

Learning about the dynamic and interesting lives of our residents is an opportunity we do not take for granted.  Rare are the chances to meet people from so many different walks of life and rarer still are the opportunities to build a lasting relationship extending beyond the facility and continuing on after discharge.  Mr. Eric Frederick Cox resided with us from April 2015 until his passing on August 22nd, 2015.  He was an accomplished author, political blogger, mentor, organizer, and comedian.  He served his country in the US Army for 15 years and was honorably discharged.  Mr. Cox's honorary grandson, Mukunta Mazimba, sent us pictures of the flag he accepted on behalf of Mr. Cox at the funeral service.  We're humbled to have had the opportunity to meet such an accomplished individual and make a positive impact in his life.  From all of us at Althea Woodland, rest in peace, Mr. Cox.  You will be missed.

Mr. Cox is survived by his brother, Lloyd Cox, Sr.; nephews, Dr. Lloyd Cox, II, and John Cox; his honorary grandson, Mukunta Mazimba; and other relatives and friends.
